Moving Line Project "How to make a line move?"... is the question that third grade students were asked. We discussed vertical, horizontal and wavy lines. Vertical lines seem tall and strong. Collaborative Watercolor Painting
This was an interesting project to watch as it came together. Kindergarten completed large watercolor resist art pieces. I painted the big black lines and they filled in. I didn't give them specific instructions as to how I wanted them to fill these in, that was left up to them. I wanted to see how they went about the process themselves. Election Day and Veteran's Day
Thank You Veterans - Past and Present!!! I couldn't let these two important days go by without spending some time with my little firsties talking about why we should be Proud to Be Americans! The final piece of the 3rd grade Lu Summers quilt project was to have early finishers color their styrofoam plates one more time and contribute it to a a larger 3rd quilt image. The biggest we could go was 20x30 and that accomodated 17 student plates. Three of these so far, with probably enough for one more of equal or slightly smaller size.
