Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] - PS4 Review
Under Night In-Birth is a 2D fighting game coming to us from French Bread and Aksys Games. With a heavy Type-Moon vibe to it, a nice selection of characters, and a solid combat system in place, if nothing else it's certainly a solid entry into the fighting game genre. There are plenty of different modes to try out and the combat is fluid making it easily accessible to newcomers or those that aren't particularly good at fighting games. The basic premise of Under Night In-Birth is basically a…
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life - PS4 Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
Whether you are new to the Yakuza titles or a long-time fan of Kazuma Kiryu’s exploits, there are numerous things to like about Yakuza 6: The Song of Life. The title creates a sense of familiarity for those familiar with the series, but has enough new features and nuance to make this entry its own […]
Post Human W.A.R. - PC Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
Before getting into anything gameplay specific, the concept behind this turned based strategy is a good one. While maybe not being the most original as most science fiction has us blowing up the planet or ourselves in one fashion or another, Post Human W.A.R is all about the creatures and the robots that we left […]
Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet - PS4 Review
It is no secret that I am a fan of Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online franchise; when I first saw the anime back in 2012 I was hooked. I was going through a bit of a rough spell on a personal level and it just clicked; in a way the Aincrad arc could be seen as a parallel to my own troubles at the time. It holds a special place in my heart so each time a Sword Art Online title came around I lobbied for the chance to get my hands on them and the case is no different for Bandai Namco's latest…
Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky - PS4 Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
Exist Archive is a JRPG brought to us by Spike Chunsoft and tri-Ace. Maybe recognizable from their works such as Danganronpa and Valkyrie Profile respectively, these two came together to create a solid JRPG that covers most of its bases in: gameplay, music, and story, although perhaps lacking a bit in gameplay explanation. Exist Archive […]
Dark Angel - Retro Reflection
In the good old day there was a game genre called "beat'em up". I am not referring to Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat; I am talking about games where you confronted gangs of thugs with your bare fists, like Final Fight or Double Dragon. Although action games have ruled for years this particular genre is practically dead now. I don't know why, maybe companies thought it had no more potential or did not try to modernize it. Dark Angel was an attempt to create something new with an old formula…

Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online - PC Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
Neptune has logged in to a new adventure! This time we join our favorite purple haired fourth-wall breaking protagonist as she explores the world of the massively popular in-universe MMORPG 4 Goddesses Online! Xenon Valkyrie+ - PS4 Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
I am slowly, probably due to age, coming to the conclusion that I suck at Roguelikes. Don’t get me wrong, I love the style and tenacity rules the day but when it comes to skill? People like Marc L. will bypass me in a heartbeat all while simultaneously juggling coffee and multiple breakfast items. Moaning […]
Pinball FX3: Jurassic World Pinball - PS4 Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
Given the upcoming Jurassic movie, it only makes sense for Zen Studios to dip into this particular property, and I’m happy to say that by and large the Pinball FX3: Jurassic World Pinball DLC delivers a pair of really good tables along with a somewhat more mediocre one that on the whole should make Pinball […]
Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms - Vita Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
Ahh… Another heart throbbing, tear jerker, romance novel-y game. Better grab that box of tissues ladies and gentlemen, to dab them loose tears and un-fog those glasses, because this one actually has some serious in depth story telling. Hakuoki: Edo Blossom is a visual novel game and is the sequel to Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds. Unlike […]
The Raven: Remastered - PC Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
King Arts Games and THQ Nordic (the company that owns The Adventure Company) released a new title called The Raven. It is a point and click mystery game that requires good old fashioned detective work. When I was younger, I played a ton of titles produced by The Adventure Company, like Riddle of the Sphinx, […]
Vermintide 2 - PC Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
After having recently taken Vermintide 2 for a spin during their closed beta any worries that I may have had for the newest edition were put to rest like that latest Skaven horde that came calling for our heroes’ blood. Equipped once again with swords, guns, crossbows, hammers and explosives, take control of the group […]
Wanderjahr: TryAgainOrWalkAway - Switch Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
Wanderjahr: TryAgainOrWalkAway is a real timed strategy “rpg” that sees you sending in a squad of seemingly random specialists in order to dispatch the monsters currently attacking the Earth. With either a controller or the console in your hands, order your group of warriors forward to save the Earth and the people that they now […]
Monster Hunter World - PS4 Review – Chalgyr's Game Room
Hey ho hunterino! You’re moving on from Moga, Dundorma and Bherna and heading to the New World to continue your hunting exploits, are you? Don’t forget to bring back a souvenir! But not Dung. That wouldn’t be cool. The Monster Hunter Franchise is a series I’ve put more time into than planning for my future. […]
