In 2015 I came across Erik’s blog and signed up for his Technique Tuesday newsletter. I was fascinated that there was someone out there who was able to put together and explain clinically and scientifically what we were doing on the table, not just one “technique”, but a system for the entire body. At that point, I purchased the entire set of videos and books, and I began my MMT journey.
"I attended my first in-person workshop during Erik’s 2010 “Blue Collar Tour” and was immediately hooked! The information presented completely changed my thinking about bodywork. It not only taught me better ways to treat complex pain conditions but also how to better communicate and “hear” my client’s issues. I began assessing more for movement restrictions and structural patterns instead of chasing the client’s pain." Become an MMT - Click on pin.
"I was introduced to Erik Dalton’s work and the door to an unknown dimension of bodywork opened. At my first MAT workshop, I met the Dalton Gang who were so eager to teach, yet ready to learn. Among them was Nathan Fay, whose teaching abilities and humbleness have inspired and enlightened my path. Erik Dalton has dedicated his life to elevating manual therapy to the top of the hill. I sincerely hope that future generations of bodyworkers will fully understand how much we owe him."
I felt like I needed a more in-depth study of the human body. While searching for another bodywork program, I happened to see a short video clip of Erik Dalton’s treatment for Upper Cross Syndrome, and that very night I ordered my first Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques home study course. It was the best decision I’ve ever made!!

"Toward the end of my massage school training, my anatomy and physiology instructor recommend Erik Dalton if I wanted to further my understanding and ability to help others live pain-free. Relaxation is a very valuable aspect of massage, but I knew my focus was on people wanting to correct the cause of their chronic pain. I pursued MAT within a year of graduation." The Myoskeletal Alignment approach has revolutionized my practice and life. It has not only enabled me to excel in the pain management arena, but I have also been able to help athletes and active individuals get back to and continue doing what they enjoy. I have been able to provide for them what I did not have when I was an athlete sidelined due to injury. Thanks Erik to you and the Dalton gang for the excellent education and the opportunity to dream again!

It was wonderful meeting Erik and the Dalton Gang at both the Costa Rica 2019 and Oklahoma City 2021 workshops. I look forward to learning more from Erik and his colleagues and am forever grateful to Erik and his wonderful staff for their help and guidance on my Master Myoskeletal Therapist journey.
Pursuing my MMT has not only been an incredibly rewarding experience but has also significantly enhanced my abilities to help others. Additionally, as relationships deepen with clients and intentional touch becomes more profound, it’s wonderful to observe anxiety and other sympathetic symptoms alleviated. Learning MAT has already enriched my life in wonderful ways and I’m excited to share it with as many people as possible.
My clients loved the work and now my practice has been built on the principals of Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques. I began my career over 30 years ago first as a massage therapist and then as a physical therapy assistant. I’m also a certified personal trainer and owner/director of Health Touch School of Massage here in the grand state of Wisconsin. My passion is teaching anatomy, kinesiology, physiology, and pathology. Now that I’ve earned my Master Myoskeletal Therapist certification, my goal is to become a certified MAT instructor and spread the word about this fantastic brain-based bodywork modality.
After receiving the Master Myoskeletal Therapist certification, my hands-on manipulation techniques have continued to develop. MAT has been an asset in my clinic because it allows me to improve the quality of life, both physically and emotionally, for every one of my patients. Following the MAT principles and guidelines, my patients are able to more quickly return to physical activity with increased physical strength and mobility.

I wanted to help people right here, right now. I needed a new avenue. Thatâs when I found bodywork. I traveled to Oklahoma City for my first Dalton workshop. It stands as the single most pivotal point in my education and career. It was there in OKC that I connected to this incredible community of empirically minded bodyworkers. "As a licensed massage therapist, I was intent on racking up continuing education trainings that would truly make an impact. I really lucked out because my very first professional continuing education experience was with Erik in Atlanta, Georgia. This 3-day workshop really inspired me and, and in 2010 I was able to again join the Dalton gang at the âPain Management in Paradiseâ Costa Retreat â which for me, was the most fun and productive learning experience to date!" "MAT has taught me how to work more holistically using current evidence informed theory. My practice has always been comprised of complicated cases such as scoliosis, athletic injuries, postural issues and chronic pain conditions and MAT has been the missing link in helping me evaluate and treat these clients. I still have a long way to go, and a lot to attempt to master, but thanks to Erik Dalton for creating such a solid program that has really helped me connect some of those dots."
