The African Elephant. They are easily distinguishable from the Asian Elephant. The Africa Elephant are larger, and among several other differences their ears are shaped as the map of Africa. :) travelwithron.ca

The Secretary Bird is a very large bird of prey. Endemic to Africa, it is usually found in the open grasslands and savannah. They are easily recognizable by their black stockings and their pencils in their hair just like the old fashioned secretaries. This photos was taken in Buffalo Springs Game Reserve, Kenya travelwithron.ca

East African Oryx is a type of antelope. All Oryx species prefer near-desert conditions and can survive without water for long periods. The horns are lethal — the oryx has been known to kill lions with them. It is the horns that make these animals a prized game trophy, which has led to the near-extinction of the two northern species.
