When we live like slaves, we live as orphans. Rejection is an orphan spirit, and it trains you to see yourself and your life through the lens of an orphan. This means that there is a lack of a true sense of belonging or family connection, where you never feel safe or plugged into any community. Slaves can be surrounded by people and still feel disconnected.
One of the deadly effects of bitterness is that we can end up releasing words of judgment over people that have wronged us in some way, as a retaliatory response. We forget that our words can release blessing or cursing, life or death.
