17th/ 18th century inspired pocket with hand embroidery and beadwork- House Tyrell Game of Thrones

This original design is inspired by the pockets women wore in the 17th and 18th century. Though originally hidden underneath one's skirts, this can be worn on top of skirts, dresses, or jeans. Rose appliqué on silk with cotton and metallic thread, glass beads, brass beads and cut crystal beads represent the House Tyrell sigil from Game Of Thrones. It measures at 11.5 inches tall x 9 inches wide, with a 72 inch circumference- end to end( ribbon tie.) Feel free to contact us through private…

Our split "false rumps" are based on historical depictions and descriptions, and create the perfect round, full silhouette for later 18th century gowns. We admit that they look a little goofy on their own without a skirt to weigh them down, so we have included a photo of a completed ensemble worn over the rumps. All skirt supports are made from the same high quality cotton sateen that we use for the fashion fabric on our corsets, so the undergarments coordinate. The pillows are stuffed with…

18th Century Undergarments for 'The Rivals'

My most recent and all consuming project is an 18th century dress for CMU's production of The Rivals, which opens at the beginning of October. The dress is already well on its way to being completed. Here are a few glimpses of the undergarments that I created for the costume. The undergarments will not be seen by the audience, but much care was put into their creation. Each component of the costume should be beautiful inside and out so that the actress feels that she is stepping back in…

Happy Tuesday! It's another smoking hot day in Dayton, Ohio. I am comfortably sitting in the air conditioning, sipping on some iced tea, and preparing to inundate your peepers with loads of picture candy. Izjoo ready? This is Black Cat (that's her name), and she's feral (and my bestie outdoor feline). In the last year, Black Cat has birthed two litters of kittens on my patio. Thursday, she has a spaying appointment at the Human Society, after which, she will be living on my back porch while…

Making an 18th Century Inspired Dress Part 1 | Drafting the Bodice

One of my favorite part of the Terry Dresbach's designs is the use of texture and all of the beautiful fabrics, so when I found a wonderful gray linen I knew I…
