Rockabilly Batman is a "elseworlds" type concept that artist Denis Medri illustrated a few years ago. (you should check out his original sketches on DeviantArt!) . I really like the concept and could see a lot of potential in a fun comic mini-series. DC already has a Bombshells series, it wouldn't bet much of a stretch to let Medri do his own series!
This looks like a lovely day to do a post!
Random digital sketch to start the week off. I'm hoping that 'll actually post more than once this week!
Here's some digital inks of Zatanna, another one of my favorite DC characters. I tried to play around with some of the effect brushes in Manga Studio but quite succeed. Anyone know of any good Manga Studio brush packs?
My first post in some time! It's getting harder and harder to find time to draw just for the fun of it. Here's a messy digital ink sketch of the Caped Crusader that I managed to do last night. Hope you guys like it!
Starting my morning off with an audiobook, some coffee and doodling Old Man Logan. Not a bad way to get your day going!
Happy new year everyone! 2018 is starting off on a cold foot, so bundle up and stay safe out there! I'm going to follow Robin's example and drink lots of hot cocoa :)
Been experimenting with the new Photoshop CC 2018 and seeing how the brushes are different this time 'round. I also downloaded Tablet Pro, a windows app that adds some much-needed touch buttons like "alt" when you're in things like photoshop. Hopefully, this will mean more work done in Photoshop!
Morning sketch of everyone's favourite Gotham Police Commissioner, James Gordon! When I was doodling this I realize that Jim just needs to have his head and he would be the spitting image of Walter from Breaking Bad.
Happy Halloween y'all! To all of those houses trying to hand out healthy snacks like fruits or granola bars: Shame on you. Shame! Here's a morning sketch of classic universal monster Frankenstein!
Inktober, I have failed you!! I only managed to do 2 inked pieces this month, which ain't great. For this is a bit of fanart of Bruce Timm's redesign of Scarecrow he did for the final season of Batman: TAS. I always thought he was creepy and hoped this design would show up in other mediums.
Trying to start off my week right with a Monday morning sketch of Harley Quinn. This is the original Bruce Timm design of the character. I find that Quinn's place in the DCU is similar to Catwoman. In reent years, because of their popularity, they've been pushed away from their villain roots and been portrayed as more of anti-hero or straight up hero. But to me, both of them are at their best (and fun!) when they're causing Batman headaches as voracious villains. What do you guys think?
Here's an unfinished digital painting of a B-Girl standing in her B-Girl style.
Here's some digital inks of everyone's favourite billionaire dressed as a bat!
It's been a few weeks since I've last posted! Travelling, upcoming friends wedding and craziness at work is no excuse... time to get back on track. Here's a quick sketch I did this morning to start off my day.
