DIY Coaster Craft I bought these tiles at Home Depot ($0.13pcs). I painted them BEHR whilte paint/primer in one (bought sample for $2.50). Once this was dry I grabbed my kid and we went to town. It was so much fun! We made quite a few. Once the paint was dry I covered it with Polycrylic finish ($8.00) which dries clear to protect the paint. I plan to glue felt to the backs. TADA! Instant homemade present from the kiddos!
Just bought 11 cent tiles at Menards and turned it into a coaster/hot plate. First Graders are making them for gifts. Clean surface with alcohol. White tempera paint with fingers, permanent markers and after it is dried I applied two coats of Sax tempera gloss varnish with sponge brush. Add felt pads on bottom for. If they goof up the paint, just wipe clean and try again.
