AIR TRANSAT Offers great deals to Europe in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter. Note: keep in mind that, as a charter airline, these planes have very little legroom due to the fact that it is very cheap
On August 24, 2001, a leak on the fuel system of Air Transat Flight 236 caused the plane to ran out of fuel while flying over the Atlantic Ocean. The aircraft was still 15 minutes away from the nearest airport base in Azores when it totally lost its fuel. It was the longest glide for a passenger jet on record and the Pilots became reluctant heroes. Watch the drama unfold on that faithful day through this National Geographic Documentary Video – Flying on Empty.
