S-s-sam and S-s-sara, the garter snake statue in Inwood, Manitoba. Inwood garter snake statue

Practically every town in Manitoba has a statue; Inwood is near the Narcisse snake dens and has a substantial population of garter snakes in its own right (there are dens all over the Interlake), so it gets a statue of two red-sided garter snakes ("Sam" and "Sara"), which was first erected in 1995. It's away from the main highway (Hwy 17) so is somewhat easy to miss, especially since you should be watching the road for snakes (damn it).

From a Glass slide. Streetcar says "Fort Rouge" also on the right, Bank of Hamilton, Eastern Townships Bank, and Bank of Ottawa. Small building on the right says "Winnipeg Bicycle Company" I think the Millenium Center, Confederation building, replaced this block. Four streetcars are visible, one is 82, the other 128, can't tell the other numbers. This info was with the glass slide: The greatest city in Canada West of the Great Lakes, is Winnipeg, the capital of the province of Manitoba. It…
