Good people doing good things need to stick together (and talk a lot). The African proverb we live and work by is, “If you think you’re too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a room with a mosquito.” We work and speak with so many amazingly energetic people, who are making a big difference (let’s call them “our” mosquitos), and we look forward to introducing them, their work and their philosophies to you, hoping to build an even stronger community and support for each other.
We interviewed Margot Perlmutter, Camp Director at Camp Tamakwa and author of Camp Food Matters. Camp Tamakwa is a co-ed residential summer camp located in beautiful Algonquin Park, Canada since 1936 (and where my kids spend their summers). We found out about the healthy food changes happening at camp, what healthy shifts any summer camp can easily make, and the most popular addition to meal time.
We spoke with Oren Epstein, The Vegan Broker and owner of BIO RAW. We found out why he wants to shake up the food industry, why you won’t find iceberg lettuce in his salad bowls, and the vegetable he resonates with most.
We interviewed Frankie and BJ, authors of Milo's Adventures.
IWM: Toby Davidson

We interviewed Lisa Sweetman and Cassandra Rizzotto, founders of Earth + City. We found out the key to successful partnerships, what they love about being employers, and how to spot a great farmers’ market.
We interviewed Joey Storm, creator of jocycle, original author of The Tale of Kale, and the inspiration for No Nuts Please. We found out what it’s like to go to school, parties, and camp with a nut allergy, which allergen-free school lunch her friends all want to try, and what it’s really like to be Lisa Borden’s daughter.
We interviewed Julie Bednarski, founder of The Healthy Crunch Company. We found out what makes one kale chip better than another, how to get your kids to enjoy a head of kale at school, and how to sneak kale into your desserts.
