If you're like us, many of our students spend Ramadan fasting. Do you teach the rest of the class about some of the traditions during this important time? We created a set of reading and writing activities to help teach elementary students about this observance in the Islam faith along with resources like books you can use in your upper elementary classroom. Come learn more!

We wanted to help all the students in our classroom feel included and one way was for our class to design our own celebration. We started by creating criteria for a great celebration, studied other festivals and events people in our class celebrate and then made up our own. Our upper elementary classroom compared the celebrations to the criteria and decided which would be the best to hold in our class. It was so much fun! We wanted to help all the students in our classroom feel included and one way was for our class to design our own celebration. We started by creating criteria for a great celebration, studied other festivals and events people in our class celebrate and then made up our own. Our upper elementary classroom compared the celebrations to the criteria and decided which would be the best to hold in our class. It was so much fun! Everything you need to teach is included in this Google Slides activity!
