A tribute to the Allied Merchant Navy in WW2, this article describes the convoy tactic that was fundamental during the Battle of the Atlantic (1939–1945) as a defense against the German U-Boats and their so-called wolf packs. The losses to shipping escalated until 1942, when at last the Allies were able to tilt the balance.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Alexander Keith's brewery in Halifax, while on our way to Cape Breton for a cousin's wedding. Although we passed on going to Peggy's Cove due to the poor weather, visiting the brewery more than made up for it.
