In our latest instalment of Bring it Home, we're sharing a few of our own tips and tricks based on the designer's fun and clever dining area, featured on her website. Cambie Travels: Essaouira, Morocco

The second featured post from my recent trip to Morocco showcases my short time spent in the coastal port city of Essaouira. A scenic 2 1/2 hour drive from Marrakech, you might catch a goat climbing an olive tree along the way! I enjoyed shopping the most in Essaouira, meeting gracious shop owners offering a nice variety of handmade pieces, never feeling overwhelmed by the size of the medina. The laid back energy, the colourful and historical streets, and as an avid seafood lover, being…

Over the next couple of weeks I will share a series of posts from this trip (you can check out the hashtag on Instagram for all of my travel posts #cambietravels), starting with my time in the painted blue city of Chefchaouen, Morocco. Visiting this picturesque place was at the top of my list when planning my travels in…

Announcing Cambie's Big Move!

Boy, have we got big news to share!! After three wonderful years in our sweet little Parkdale shop, we are excited to announce that Cambie will be relocating a bit further east at 1048 Queen Street West this coming summer. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to the Parkdale community but hope you will follow us the short distance to the Queen Street West and Dovercourt Road area. We are incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement we have received in Parkdale but for some…

Cambie Travels: Wynwood Neighbourhood, Miami

One of our favourite places to visit when travelling to Miami, Florida is the vibrant art district of Wynwood. A couple of weeks ago, we were fortunate to sneak in a quick trip and made sure to make an afternoon in Wynwood a top priority. An industrial part of the city, Wynwood has been taken over by artists displaying their bright, beautiful work across almost every surface. While strolling the streets, the art is endless as far as the eye can see. While some of the buildings are abandoned…

Late Winter Window Display

We're so pleased with our latest window display to usher in spring, inspired by our ongoing Escape Winter theme! Handmade cyan-coloured paper leaves crown our textiles and, being the season of rebirth and renewal, each window depicts a different half of the season. The first window showcases the beginning of spring with softer, neutral-toned pieces representing the winter thaw. The second window depicts the end of spring as it stretches into the summer, with some of our brightest striped…

Shop Visit: Esther Lee of @thiswildheart

We recently had the pleasure of having Esther Lee from the Toronto-based blog This Wild Heart visit our shop in Parkdale. We met Esther last year while selling at a local market alongside fellow vendor Rugged Lot, who specializes in hand-crafted leather goods made by her husband, Roy Lee. We're big fans of Esther's Instagram account, which showcases her beautiful photographs of captured moments around the city, so we thought to ask her a few questions about her aesthetic, inspirations and…
