Salvaged Canadian Black Walnut - This tree was brought to me by @lumber_smith to turn into beautiful live edge slabs. It's really exciting to be part of a process that started over 100 years ago. This log was 42" diameter which pushed my modified woodmizer sawmill to the limit!

Sawmill band saw blades are here. These will be used when the sawmill is in its extend width mode to achieve a width of cut, wider the the the stock width of Stay tuned I hope works!
40" wide Soft Maple slabs with a little splalting & interesting colours. My first cuts ever under a roof & it's on a beautiful Saturday morning. This log pushed my modified woodmizer saw mill to the max width it can cut. Amazing that this machine is from 1992 & still going strong! I won't let the metal in this log ruin my day.
