Reviews I Contemporary Western Romance
Courntey had left home years ago. she rarely went home. When her husband died, she was able to take her daughter to see her grandpa. Courtyney and Cole were sweethears for a long time, but Cole broke up with her and she didn't know why. This story brings the circl back to where all the love and peace exist
Heavy but very good. I was expecting a Christian Romance, but this wasn't that. There are some romantic aspects, but the majority of this book concerns her dealing with her past after being gone for several years. Seeing things through a different lens, which is something that takes courage from everyone invovled. Very good
When Carly returns home, her three older brothers are each engaged to strong independent business women. The love she witnesses is something she once thought she'd have but never did. Now what? Move ahead with her Event Center project, until she hits a snag. Who comes to help her? Someone she thought she'd never see again. This isn't a smooth transition towards a rekindled relationship.......
I could not put Country Wedding down. These wonderful, believable characters were through so much. I was so wrapped up in Carly and Derek's story. There are some powerful messages in this book. The author has a wonderful gift for telling stories of love, family and redemption. I highly recommend this book!
"And as he prayed, he felt his shoulders lose their tension, his fingers uncurl. Slowly, as he let go of his notions of what should happen, God’s answer came. Not in a bolt of lightning, not in a shout from the sky, but in a small voice that waited for Joe to figure this out." Joe Brewer
One of the best authors I’ve read. The story flows seamlessly. No added story lines to fill up space, you quickly become invested in the characters. A sweet, believable clean romance. I especially liked the way faith in god played a role - it was just who the characters were. NOT in any kind of preachy way, Will read the entire series.
Oh my goodness. Country Proposal is such a great, sweet, heartwarming romance! I love these characters. I feel so bad for Etta who was betrayed by someone who should have been a force for good. Finn was so sure love was not for him. I love reading about them falling in love. There ios just so musch love and warmth on the pages of this book. I could not put it down!
"This author writes believable dialogue and her heroines are smart women with real jobs and living real lives; no sex and no bad language and no billionaires or unfeasibly good looking heroes just an honest story and all the better for it. The Christian messaging is not too heavy, I don't read these books for that but for the stories."
"Joe blew out his breath and spun the wheel feeling as if he had survived a trial by fire. And ice, he thought, remembering Rebecca Stevenson. It was ironic that the woman he found appealing was out of his reach while the available ones didn’t catch his fancy or were totally…unsuitable."
