Women get so used to competing with each other and sometimes it gets out of hand. Don’t get me wrong, a little healthy competition can motivate you and stimulate your mind, but it’s more fruitful to outdo yourself than the girl next to you.
Chef Chuck Hughes however, was a name I heard thrown around a few times before I started working on the 2nd Annual Spring Gala. Chuck was the third Canadian chef to win a cooking battle against Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America. It was his tasty lobster dishes that lead him to victory, and earned him his own TV shows, Chuck’s Day Off, and Chuck’s Eat the Street. #ChuckHughes #Foodie #EventPlanning #Blog
Last month I hosted my first major event for the college I work for. It was our Annual Building Futures Gala to raise money for expansion plans for one of our campuses, and featured guest speaker and NHL superstar, Ray Bourque of the Boston Bruins.
Freelance: Events by Emma. One of the things I like about being a freelance communicator is the opportunity I get to do a lot of different things I’m interested in. Event planning has been a hobby of mine for quite sometime, and I get excited when I get the chance to to plan one or to simply provide support. #events #eventplanning #eventdecor #gala #blog
Review: The Second Annual Big Brother Mess! Last year I was happy to attend The First Annual Evel Dick Big Brother Party at The Ranch Saloon here in Winnipeg. On Wednesday February I’m launching something new and exciting. I’ll be posting hints along the way so you have plenty of time to figure it out. What I can tell you now is that this upcoming project is something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time.
Carrying out two back-to-back events is always tough. It can be hard to ensure all of your logistics are planned out well for both events, when you don’t have the time in between to go over everything once again before the second event takes place.
Professional Instagram Accounts. Instagram is one of my favourite social media channels. I’m not a professional photographer, but I love taking pictures. I give many kudos to whoever had the genius idea of installing camera abilities in cell phones, because that means I can snap away whenever, where ever; at least for the most part. #instagram #socialmedia #photography #blog
Gotta Love Them Galas. On Friday I hosted my first event for my new job; a gala to show our appreciation to the school’s board of governors for all of their hard work, and to inspire partnerships within the community.
Red Dress Gala & Fashion Show. As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been a very busy girl these last few months. Earlier this year I held my first annual Red Dress Gala & Fashion Show, in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
