Nice wee activity in relation to Remembrance - children were told the story of how the war ended on the day, month on the hour and there was peace. Provoked them to think about what helps us find peace.
Teaching kids about 9/11 is always difficult, yet extremely important. Here's how my class and the 2nd grade class at Canaan Schools are honoring the heroes this year. After learning about that tragic day, each student got a brick and wrote a special message to a soldier. We then "rebuilt" the towers by sharing our thanks and caring thoughts. Tomorrow our poster is off in the mail to Afghanistan for the soldiers of the 237th MP company to enjoy.
