A 4 kilometre (return) long trail leads to a pristine waterfall in the Tablelands, and a significant and important site in Gros Morne National Park, where the earth's mantle is exposed.
Saglek Fjord in Torngat Mountains NP, Labrador
During my recent visit to Torngat Mountains National Park in Labrador, we took a helicopter ride at sunset. We landed on the top of a mountain overlooking the North Arm of the Saglek Fjord where I was able to take this shot.
St. John's Harbour
St. John's is the capital city of Newfoundland and Labrador. It has been said that this City is one of the most colourful in Canada. The City lights are reflecting in the harbour on a calm night.
Cape Spear & Ocean Sunrise
With a stream of lower clouds, I had to wait a little longer for the sun to get a bit higher - but it was totally worth waking up at 3:30am and driving here for this spectacular view! This newer lighthouse (built in the 1950s) replacing the older one from 1836 - which still stands nearby and is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses in Newfoundland.
NORTHERN SAW-WHET owl
Adult Northern Saw-whet Owls are 17–22 cm long with a 42–56.3 cm wingspan. They can weigh from 54 to 151 g (1.9 to 5.3 oz) with an average of around 80 g (2.8 oz),making them one of the smallest owls in North America.They are close to the size of an American robin. The northern saw-whet owl has a very sophisticated hearing. Such accurate sound localization allows it to hunt in a complete darkness by hearing alone (Source: Wikipedia)
