In the rural community of Errington, on Vancouver Island, BC there is a popular landmark named Triple Falls (on Morrison Creek). While hiking here in early December, I was amazed to see this icy traveler, though when he heard my lumbering approach, he quickly made his way across the shelf between the falls. I was able to capture our chance encounter before he vanished into the twilight. Fading light, a tripod and slow shutter allowed me to give the image a magical, ethereal look.

Think of a beach in British Columbia, and you probably imagine the steady cadence of waves crashing against a rocky shoreline.

Sandcut Beach is situated between French Beach Provincial Park and Jordan River. It’s a 10 minute hike from the parking area along a rugged wooded trail.

Here is another hidden gem I found in Victoria BC, Canada. It's a little creek that's located in the most popular park in town, the Beacon Hill Park. It's hidden to most visitors since it's covered by dense vegetation. I found this spot in years ago, but I wasn't able to shoot it until recently. Hope you like it.

Follow me on Vero: JamesX Here is an older shot that I made back in 4 years ago. Absolutely the craziest sunset I've ever witnessed in my life. There was a rare thunderstorm (1 in ten years) that hit Victoria, and the storm quickly dissipated at the sunset moment exactly. Too bad I wasn't able to be at a better place for photo. Hope you enjoy it!

Ah, the whimsy of childhood, especially when you have such great things to enjoy and use to foster the mind and imagination on inner voyages of discovery and delight. Today we look at a wonderful playhouse we found in the town of Chemainus on Vancouver Island one summer's day, and explore what it means to be young again.
