Winter in Edmonton
You may fall in love, Sunday, March 9 at I YEG Winter. From 1 to 4PM, the Alfred H. Savage Centre in Whitemud Park North will host winter family fun, including a cabane a sucre and traditional French Canadian entertainment from Les Bucherons. Everyone is welcome to enjoy popcorn, cotton candy and winter fun. Bring your toboggan to one of the best hills in Edmonton and try the fast-growing winter sport of snowshoeing. It’s the perfect opportunity to fall in love with winter.
FESTIVAL OF LIGHT! Light is inviting. Light is vibrant. Light is energizing. The Festival of Light will spread light and illuminate the spirit of Edmonton from December 6 to December 15. This December, the Festival of Light, the first of its kind, will stage a spectacular exhibition of artistic light installations within the unique setting of the zoo. Join us for our first Annual Winter Fun Fest for Southeast Edmonton communities! Date: Saturday December 14, 2013 Time: noon-3pm Location: 9411 97 Avenue Cloverdale Community League Hall & Gallagher Hill Explore the many ways to have fun during winter. Visit booths to learn about outdoor clubs and organizations. There will be crafts, demonstrations, and other activities for people of all ages.
The Alfred H. Savage Centre in Whitemud Park makes it easier for Edmontonians of all abilities to pursue nature-related activities in the river valley. Located at the base of the park’s toboggan hill, it serves as a warm-up and washroom facility for trail users and sledders in the winter.
