Thrumming is a technique of catching unspun wool (roving) into your knit stitches to create a warm and cozy layer of insulation. Like a little hidden sheepskin for your toesies! Walk on it for long enough, and you'll end up with thick felt.
Thrummed knitting is an ancient technique. You will also need about 3 ounces of washed wool locks with a staple length of 5 - 6 inches. An adorable hat that will be the warmest hat you own! The pattern will use about 6 ounces of a worsted weight yarn. It is also a perfect pattern for hand spun yarns.
