This is from a totally different family from the other plant by the same name, but the vine (thunbergia alata), shares with rudbeckia the yellow petals and black "eye"

This is a common grackle, and not the most beloved of birds. But isn't that blue on his head extraordinary? The leaves in behind are actually reflected in water.

There was a family of these unusual looking birds that used to fish along Grenadier Pond in Toronto. Beautiful.

It's not difficult to take pretty photos of the swans in Grenadier Pond (High Park, Toronto). But I think this is one of my favourites.

There's a rather large colony of these beautiful birds in Toronto's High Park. They're nice to watch except during their nesting season when they like to dive-bomb passersby.
