This board here displays some of my artwork available at my Etsy Shop that I recently opened. You can check it all out at this link here and let me know what you think!
A favourite. Shapes and colours- vibrant, magical. A mysterious menagerie of life under the sea. I used several layers and methods of texturing for the surrounding water, which turned out beautifully if you look at it up-close. This is a very unique piece where the blending and tone of colours represent the mysteries under our feet. Mixed media: watercolours and tempra paint, on handmade paper. 18" x 22" unframed piece.
A personal favourite. This is different from my other work. I am usually a big fan of colours and vibrant pieces but this time I decided to challenge myself. Found a snowy photo, and decided to give it a try. The iciness of the blue, the reflection in the water and the white snowy bank. It turned out rather nice. 9"x7" canvas panel.
This is a painting that I pretty much dreamt up and completed in a week. A monochrome, colourless butterfly wing in a world full of colour. It is meant to show the contrast in colours and colour themes within nature's different features. Looks even more vibrant upfront. Mixed media: watercolours, tempera paint, felt-tip pens and india ink on handmade paper. 11" x 14" framed piece.
A dahlia in my garden. Fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow among the innumerable petals, I felt I had to experience the beauty of it myself by sketching it, tracing every petal, every blemish. The closeups of the dahlia show the details in shading and light. Currently framed on a poster frame, which will make it a little costly to ship. I can figure out other arrangements if that is an issue. 18"x24" sketch
An exploration of sounds and scripts. This set of 3 pieces demonstrates the similarities and differences in the Bengali and Arabic script. You can get more details at my etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MyriArt 11" x 14" framed canvasses.
This is a painting of a stork I did a few years ago. I used several photos for reference while I was painting this on cartridge paper. The colours and use of watercolours give it a nice, soft, balanced feel Size: Medium: Water colour
