West Bay, Cayman Islands While the Grand Cayman has world famous coral reefs, there's another hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. Sixty-four feet below the pristine water lies the wreck of the Kittiwake
Turneffe Islands- Most folks come to Belize to explore pristine coral reefs and encounter the myriad underwater life, and are surprised when they happen upon the remnants of old freighters, ships, and more. At least, I know I was surprised.
Saba- A Dream for Hikers and Divers. It’s a mysterious place, rising up from the azure waters of the Caribbean, often shrouded in clouds. I could see it in the shadows when we landed for our holiday in St. Maarten. Knowing that it had been a film location for King Kong only added to the allure of wanting to see it for myself.
Nungwi Beach- Scuba Do, with Christian and Tammy You could easily pick from any number of dive schools on Zanzibar's pristine coastline to take you under the turquoise waters and view its dazzling coral reefs and abundant sealife. But I couldn't imagine being in better hands than with Tammy and Christian at Scuba Do.
Great Barrier Reef- The largest living structure on the planet, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef stretches for more than 1400 miles. To put that number in perspective, it’s almost 400 miles longer than the distance from San Diego to Seattle. Experiencing this natural wonder takes some time, but with Azamara’s Destination Immersion® program, which emphasizes longer stays and more overnights, you won’t be rushed.
Another great shore dive from Aguadilla, close to Crashboat but slightly more difficult to find, is El Natural. Ask a local or dive shop if you plan to venture here yourself. This is a gorgeous dive, shallow but with a lot of sponge and reef structures. You can find lionfish, sand eels, flounders, small groupers, and more. A fun, casual dive where you can simply relax on the beach afterward and soak up some sun. Go on a weekday, as this site will get crowded on weekends just like…
SCUBA Diving in Corfu. One of the best destinations in Greece for SCUBA diving is off the coast of Corfu. Divers of all skill levels can appreciate the level of underwater visibility around the island, especially on the northwest coast, near Paleokastritsa. Caves, reefs up to 40 metres deep, underwater arches, and more can all be found in the turquoise seas of the Mediterranean, and you'll never be bored around Corfu.
The color and clarity of the Turks & Caicos water comes partially from the crushed pink coral sand sea bottom. This visibility, combined with coral heads and plenty of colorful fish also make it an amazing diving destination. Dive Provo is the top scuba company in Provo and offers daily instruction and group dives to a number of spots around the island (including old wrecks) and they cater to all skill levels.
Little Cayman’s Bloody Bay Wall The Cayman Islands are filled with incredible dive sites, but it's the extraordinary underwater walls in Little Cayman and Grand Cayman that attract divers from all over the world. Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman runs parallel to the shoreline and starts 30 feet below the water’s surface, dropping down to a depth of 1,000 feet.
Best Dive in Sydney?Australia is world-renowned for scuba diving, but you don't have to go all the way to the Great Barrier Reef or Ningaloo. Most people don't know there is plenty of good diving in and around Sydney, too. One of the best sites is Magic Point off the tip of Malabar Headland National Park south of Maroubra. There's an extensive reef system and large caves that are home to weedy sea dragons, stingrays, and a recovering colony of grey nurse sharks (which by most accounts are…
Diving at Devil’s Grotto Dive into the coral caves and passages at the Devil’s Grotto to really explore the oceanic flora and fauna of the Caribbean Sea. Swim through the incredibly thick schools of silverside fish, watch stingrays swim and play along the sand, and take underwater pictures to capture the rare tropical fish and multi-colored giant sea anemones. With waters that are warm and calm, the Devil’s Grotto is also a great place to snorkel.
