tribute to Ed Mirvish
Edwin "Honest Ed" Mirvish, OC, CBE (July 24, 1914 — July 11, 2007) was a Canadian businessman, philanthropist and theatrical impresario who lived in Toronto, Ontario. He is known not only for his flagship business, Honest Ed's, a landmark discount store in downtown Toronto, but also as a patron of the arts, instrumental in revitalizing the theatre scene in Toronto. ps the horse is named "Honest Ed" too! Forgot to mention that!
SAM the record man
SAM The Record Man was a Toronto Landmark for decades. This store on Yonge street has been in business since 1961, but unfortunately closed down a few weeks ago. Hopefully the sign will stay, since it's one of the most recognized signs on Yonge street in Toronto.

This is the best part of the final approach on my way to Pearson. Note that you can see New York State from this altitude, right at the edge of Lake Ontario. (See large) And the rainbow, that was the circ polarizer going at it with the cabin windows.
