He used all this time to figure out how the country was going to pay its’ debts and so he had to start from somewhere. The 1920s was not roaring because as everyone was partying and drinking, he was sitting in his office, trying to pay the country debt.
Source: Political Cartoon Date of Origin: 1922 This political cartoon is talking about how the pay of the government and rich owners is not fair enough for the workers and so they go on strike for that to tell the government that they had increase their pay. Also farmers’ pay was lower than this, and so they lived really poorly and this made the 1920s not a roaring time for them.

Also it’s talking about how other things like corruption between common people and those in government are becoming really bad and so many things that are suppose to be illegal are becoming legal.
