My Canada 150 Project ready for summer celebrations! I designed this with a lot of research on HBC point blankets and the help of a couple Paper Piecing patterns. The paper piece side will be the back after 2017. Paper piece design from top is mine (Canada 100), Monica Curry (Maple Leaf) and Dana Szucs Hayden (Canada 150).
Flag Socks: Canada
During the 2014 Winter Olympics, I was inspired by the opening ceremonies featuring all the competing countries, and decided to create these socks and work on them during the games. FLAG SOCKS: CANADA feature the Canadian flag, silhouette maple leaf and Canada text on the front. Since the flag and silhouette maple leaf section are the same number of rows, you can use them interchangeably! Knit the pattern as charted, or just the flag or the silhouette on the front of the socks. The foot and…

TGIFF! - Homage to a Canadian/British Classic
Happy Friday, everyone! No idea where this week went, but here we are. I'm a little punchy this morning because I stayed up ridiculously late last night to finish this top. And son #3 is fighting a stomach bug this morning so we are cuddling on the couch watching his favourite show "Super Why" in between bouts of vomiting. Poor bug! As riveting as Super Why is and as much as I enjoy the cuddling time, I know that if I don't do something right now, I'll fall asleep so here's my homage to the…

The True North Toque has me dreaming of sipping hot chocolate while sitting around a bonfire, as snow falls around me. However you choose to rock your toque, you’ll be wearing something you made all by your beautiful self. \\ WHAT DO I NEED? This pattern! 9 mm…
Ice Fishing Beanie
There's something so right about the classic pompom crochet beanie, like the Ice Fishing Beanie. Worked in a simple stitch and featuring a classic fold-up ribbing and a little pompom at the very top of the hat, this crochet hat pattern is your classic, everyday winter hat. This is an easy design to work up and since it features bulky-weight yarn, is super warm. There are minimal color changes in this design, but you could also work this in a solid hue or a variegated color to minimize those…
