The Freeze-Dried Charm of St. Andrews by the Sea

In Perry, Maine, shopping halfway to the North Pole at the 45th Parallel store - The Boston Globe
A 10-minute drive from Eastport, Maine, the town of Perry’s claim to fame is its location on the 45th parallel, halfway between the equator and the North Pole. A red granite stone first commemorated this celebrated latitude in 1899, and a relatively new interpretive panel notes that Perry joins the Bordeaux region in France and the deserts of Mongolia as other areas that reside on the 45th parallel.
