An early Viking age boat burial from Hillesøy outside the town of Tromsø. A man was interred in a sewn boat along with his dog, a heavy spear, a one edged sword and other burial goods. The inclusion of a bear pelt in the tomb might suggest the man was involved in hunting. (Article in Norwegian)
Grave goods from a Völva's grave in Köpingsvik, Öland, Sweden. There is an 82 cm long wand of iron with bronze details and a unique model of a house on the top. The finds are on display in the Swedish Museum of National Antiquities in Stockholm.
