Mar. 27, 2012 Location: Carlisle, PA, USA Details: This morning I was up early watching the ATREX mission progress on the NASA webcast. As soon as the rockets began launching, I went outside and looked to the southeast from my location in Carlisle, PA. The rockets streaking skyward into the predawn sky were quite noticable. As the rockets released their payload of chemical canisters, the chem-trails began to rapidly brighten and formed "squiggles" in the sky.

The history of the Dickinson College Mermaid is a funny one. The College originally asked for a Triton to be made, but the person who made the Triton was unsure of what that was, so it came out to be a mermaid...not the most intimidating mascot which is why today the mascot is the Red Devil.
Groundhog Day is the only major traditional U.S. celebration that is about weather. That's why this sign in Punxsutawney Phil's town asserts that this little hamlet in western PA is "the weather capital of the world." In my 5-page article I introduce Groundhog Day and groundhog control in the garden. I also explain the meaning behind this outrageous celebration: http://landscaping.about.com/cs/pestcontrol/a/groundhog_day.htm (sign from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, home of the Groundhog).
