Mirliton, or Sechium edule, is the Haitian term for chayote squash, or christophine. The edible flesh of these small, pear-shaped fruit has a light green color. You can eat them raw in salads or cook them in soups or stews.
*made it tonight and incorporated into a quick fresh tomato sauce, really yummy, tastes and feels like a cross between cucumber and zucchini :) everyone loved !Sauteed Chayote With Garlic and Herbs. Photo by RonaNZ
