How to illustrate children's books (ideation, storyboarding, and more)

How to illustrate children's books (ideation, storyboarding, and more) - - - -This picture is cool, that'd be an awesome way to storyboard and give to the client as a visual example!

I imagine the animation (or film in this case) to be fast-paced in this particular scene. This is just an assumption taken from the lines that are used to show the direction of travel, I imagine that if they were travelling slowly, there wouldn't be as many lines.

The linework in this provides a great sense of direction and the different tones set the mood. I like the POV shots and the wide shots that set the location. Great detail on the faces too to convey emotion.

I enjoy the almost excessive use of hatching to create texture and style in these pieces

This is a wonderful Graphic Sequence example, at first it only a simple square then the designer develop it to an image. And each simple image continue a Wally image.

This storyboard has a nice sense of perspective and detail. The directional arrows aid in that. It also has a nice variety of shot types.

A wonderful storyboard that shows camera moment angles and great shot compositions. All while laying out timing and moments when the camera will zoom in/out or pan across the screen. A very well thought out and planned storyboard.

For this activity, have students create a storyboard with examples for an Epic Hero from "The Ill-Made Knight".

Define the types of heroes in literature, including tragic hero, epic hero, everyman hero, classical hero & anti hero. There are many hero archetype examples.
