Giving students prompts for ideas (such as: I like, I adore, I am, I want to, I long for, I don't understand, I live for, I eat, My family is, etc.) This way, students as young as fifth grade can use the prompts from which to dive off.

As we celebrate our 100 days today, we are talking about 1912.  Came across this poem written in 1912, we had a good giggle about them wearing their hair in queues and min in "hoops in grand array".  Now to ponder 100 years from now... I am sure that we will sound just as naive and unworldly.
