The Sombrero galaxy was voted best picture taken by the Hubble telescope. The dimensions of the galaxy, officially called M104, are as spectacular as its appearance. The Sombrero Galaxy spans about 50,000 light years across and lies 28 million light years away.

M 104 Sombrero Galaxy in Virgo Cluster-member of the 'local group'-the cluster of galaxies in which our Milky Way is situated.

Sombrero Galaxy in Virgo Cluster – Hubble optical image shows a bulge of starlight partially blocked by a rim of dust, as this spiral galaxy is being observed edge on.

The Sombrero Galaxy, also known as M104, spans about 50,000 light years across and lies 28 million light years away.

Beautiful Sombrero Galaxy - This is a real picture, taken by the Hubble telescope. This beautiful galaxy has a huge 'dust' ring around it, but it has very few stars in the center. Instead, the core has a super-massive black hole.

Galaxy-it looks like a portal to a place that's fascinating. Or it could be a ship that transports stars. Or it could be a hula hoop that an item in space likes to jump through as an activity.

Galaxy NGC 4594 Sombrero Galaxy): approximately 26 million light years from Earth, in the constellation Virgo, it is considered a "nearby" galaxy.

The Majestic Messier ~ 104 Sombrero Galaxy Photo By: Hubble Space Telescope NASA. My favorite galaxy, just for the vastness of the view.

Spitzer found that halo around the Sombrero Galaxy is larger and more massive than previously thought, indicative of a giant elliptical galaxy . The galaxy has an apparent magnitude of + 9.0, making it easily visible with amateur telescope, and it's considered by some authors to be the brightest galaxy within of 10 megaparsecs of the Milky Way.

The Sombrero Galaxy - discovered to actually be two galaxies in one: A large elliptical galaxy, with a disk galaxy inside.

This floating ring is the size of a galaxy. In fact, it is part of the Sombrero Galaxy, one of the largest galaxies in the nearby Virgo Cluster of Galaxies. The dark band of dust that obscures the mid-section of the Sombrero Galaxy in optical light actually glows brightly in infra-red light. The above image, digitally sharpened, shows the infra-red glow, recently recorded by the orbiting Spitzer Space Telescope, superposed in false-color on an existing image taken by NASA's Hubble Space

Never mind that this is awesome. Never mind that this is beautiful and luminous and lovely and right. This...is called the SOMBRERO GALAXY. Our universe has a galaxy named for a sombrero. I am slain.

My first attempt at a space cat!

NGC 4594

Global Puzzle

The Sombrero Galaxy (also known as or NGC is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo located 28 million light years from Earth. It has a bright nucleus, an unusually large central bulge, and a prominent dust lane in its inclined disk.

Modernism vs postmodernism essay The aim of this first chapter is to point out the main differences and similarities between two literary trends: modernism and postmodernism.
