"Who am I going to do this with?"
From climate change to fast fashion to anti-racism, I wonder, "Where do I begin? How am I going to do this?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But that is the wrong question to ask. Not just pertaining to social justice but in all areas of our lives we can instead ask, "Who are we going to do this with?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That perspective also helps bring us into secure attachments and relational flourishing! I definitely recommend listening to the Going Scared podcast episode to learn more 💕

Painting is more about correcting errors than preventing mistakes Try Harder, Making Mistakes, Correction, Fails, Prevention, Encouragement, Things To Come, Quotes
Fairly Traded | Local - Global - Impactful
Often I find we are so scared of making a mistake when it comes to ethical purchasing that we don't try at all. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What if, instead, we tried and failed? And then tried again and improved upon on the last time?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Could it be as simple as that? I encourage you today to look at areas in your life where you could be trying too hard to prevent mistakes instead of correct errors.

I thought I'd drop a Jane Goodall quote for you today! 🐒 I'm not studying chimpanzees in Tanzania like I thought I'd be as a kid but I'd like to think I'm still making a difference in this world we live in 🌍 And a positive one at that 💁‍♀️

Fairtrade Quote
In the conscious and sustainable communities, I see products being talked about in terms of how well they are made, their impact on the environment, on our health etc. And while this is so important and needs to be taught, I've always thought..."What about the people who made them?" How were they treated? How were they paid? What's their working environment like? Do they want to do the work?

I came across @covidelvis on a friend's Instagram page and knew I had to book him! We had so much fun this past Saturday singing and dancing with friends, family, and neighbours to my favourite songs! 🎉 On top of that, we were able to collect 312 lbs of food for local food banks. Thank you so much to everyone who came out! If this event was able to bring a little joy into someone's day or help us forget our worries for an hour, then I would say it was a success! 💕 Sayings, Instagram, Songs, Friends, Dance, Let It Be, No Worries, Thank You So Much

Uhm what? Coming from someone who advocates for making a difference in the world through purchases? What's important to me is that IF you choose to buy something or IF you were already planning on buying something...that the person who made it was paid fairly and treated well. If we buy something for the wrong reasons (out of pity or because we think it'll make us happy) we are often left with too many items collecting dust in our house and adding to our stress.

I Am Doing It
How can we apply this to living a more sustainable life? We often say "I want to shop ethically...I should support small businesses more...I'd like to waste less." All the while forgetting we are at a local coffee shop with a reusable mug waiting in line for a fair trade coffee. Let's stop today and take a look at how far we've come. The journey is part of the destination. We ARE doing it...together...and how grateful am I for this supportive community along the way?
