This summer the Fernie Alpine Resort community Summit Fund contributed to the Stag Leap Running Co. A new organization in Fernie to build and develop and trail running community through events, clubs and races.

The recipient this year of the Fernie Alpine Resort Summit Fund scholarship from the Fernie Secondary School is is Amanda Hutchinson. She is a student who, through her work experience in the kitchen at FSS, has decided to pursue a career in the culinary arts. Amanda has a very positive attitude, strong work ethic, and has found an area she is passionate about. In the photo is Amanda & Sandy from the resort.
Sean, who just graduated from the Fernie Academy is this year's Fernie Alpine Resort Summit Fund scholarship recipient. He's received $500 to use towards next semester, when he is enrolled at Selkirk College in the Ski Resort Operations & Management program which starts in September.

The Fernie Nordic Society had a great 2015/16 winter season! Fernie Alpine Resort's Summit Fund is a proud supporter of the Fernie Nordic Society, this winter donating $2000 to the FNS in support of trail development & maintenance.
Congratulations to Fernie Freestyle Ski Club skiers Andrew Nixon and Sam Goodison on their great representation of Fernie at the BC Winter Games this winter. We were proud to support these young athletes via the Fernie Alpine Resort Summit Fund. Both athletes posted impressive results: Sam Goodison - 3rd overall 5th in Big Air, 5th in Slopestyle, 6th in Moguls Andrew Nixon - 16th overall 7th in Moguls, 17th in Big Air, 18th in Slopestyle Well done!

Fernie Alpine Resort Summit Fund is proud to support local freeski athlete Andrea Byrne. Just back from Kicking Horse where she won the Wrangle The Chute FWT Qualifier, she is now heading to Colorado to compete in more FWT Qualifier events. Good luck Andrea!
The Fernie Alpine Resort Summit Fund is a proud supporter of the Fernie Junior Ghostriders Atom A Hockey Team. The FAR Summit Fund supported them with a $300 donation in support of team socks. The Fernie Junior Ghostriders Atom A Hockey Team will be finishing off their successful season at the Atom Fiesta Hockey Tournament in March - good luck to the team!
