Trip Tip: Fundy National Park (New Brunswick) There’s no better place to experience nature’s ups and downs than the Bay of Fundy. The area boasts the highest tidal fluctuation in the world, but the tides won’t be the only thing to watch. The park is also the Atlantic migration flyway and therefore a popular stop for migrating birds in the spring and fall. Moody skies in Tofino, BC. With its mystical beaches, Tofino is a natural paradise in itself, but it would be worth the visit simply for the drive from Nanaimo on the winding road past ancient rainforests, rivers and a dramatic mountain range of snow-capped peaks. Did you ever travel with your RV over an ice road? Dog sleds, automobiles, large trucks (even U-Haul trucks!) travel over ice roads. The ice needs be thick, really thick! Once the ice reaches 1 meter along the entire road, it is thick enough for a Super B tanker fully loaded with up to 50,000 liters of fuel to drive across.
