Mount Elgin Industrial Training Institute - Muncey, Ontario

Indian residential school operated by the Methodists from c1872 to c1946. The school was destroyed by 1950, although the farmhouse still remains. Sad messages written by the kids who attended the school can still be seen etched into its walls. A monument to the survivors of the residential school now stands where the main building was located.
