Having the "p" larger with the other letters decreasing in size also creates a spatial depth, as if the word is being pushed backwards and at the same time to the right. Having the letter "h" right on the edge of the space intensifies the effect of being "pushed."

Very simple, not an extreme showcase of experimental, but it does show the play on letterforms to show the action word.
