My husband and I have started an unconventional Christmas tree tradition. With half this year gone we're already trying to plan for this year's! This past year we based our tree on a popular paper bag craft I saw on Pinterest where you twist and cut the ends to create branches. Instead of a miniature paper bag tree I suggested we built a giant paper bag out of Kraft paper and create a life size version.
Paper palm trees are perfect for decorating a tropical themed party or classroom event. They’re fun to make, and a good project for kids to help with, too. You could even make them with a Sunday school class for Palm Sunday. And it's amazing how realistic these palm trees look.
The secret to making a truly convincing fake tree is in the bark. It does not matter how shapely or nicely branched your cardboard or concrete construction is, if the bark texture is not right, the finished result will be disappointing.
