Alex Colville is a Canadian Artist born in Ontario who now makes his home in the Maritimes. A Member of the Canadian Army during world war II he served in Europe as a member of the War Art Program. He is described as one of Canada's most famous living painters. Described as a Magic Realistic Painter. In 2002 he was inducted into the Canada Walk Of Fame. On August 24, 2010 he celebrated his 90th Birthday.

Colville House at Mountain Allison University Colville attended Mount Allison from 1938-1942 obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. He also taught there from 1946-1963. After teaching he devoted himself full time to his art work and had a studio in this house. Now this building is called Colville House and is located at 76 York Street on the campus of Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick.
