Monitor classroom noise level with this program. Good way to show students how noise gets out of hand!
Some call it a "flipped classroom" others call it "reverse instruction" and often its empowered by information technologies that are termed "blended learning".  Bottom line: work problems and discuss concepts with students in-class versus listen to lectures and read examples outside-class.  Its also known as "adult learning", and the purpose is to improve learning, retention, and application of knowledge.  This infographic summaries it nicely.

Secret Service (Kindness Activity)...have one for each student in an envelope, maybe have each student have a specific task (e.g. talk to someone who is alone, say please and thank you, hold the door open for someone, tell your teacher thank you each day)...or have them exchange names for the holidays to perform acts of kindness (lesson about taking care of one another).
