This is a fun activity that students can help create. Students use boxes (cereal boxes, fruit snack boxes, etc.) and help create a community for their free play area. This can help students begin to understand what a community is. Kindergarten Social Studies, Teaching Social Studies, Kindergarten Art, Social Studies Communities, Communities Unit, Science Projects, School Projects, Projects For Kids, Reggio

Students created a community by covering cereal boxes with construction paper to make buildings. They also made community helpers, roads, parks, parking lots, road signs, etc. A wonderful consolidation for our Local Community Social Studies unit. Created by K.Groenewegen, OCT
