No matter what state we are in, we will experience another state soon, and eventually move on from this life and face the next life. Imam al-Shaf'i said in his famous poem ولا حزن يدوم ولا سرور ..... ولا بؤس عليك ولا رخاء إذا ما كنت ذا قلب قنوع ..... فأنت ومالك الدنيا سواء Neither happiness nor sadness persists... nor even grief or luxury.
