I love chocolate. When I became a nutritionist and learned everything that is in your typical KitKat bar.. I knew I had to create my own healthy chocolate bar. In a typical Mars Bar we see 34.2 grams of sugar, corn syrup that is full of pesticides, milk ingredients that are full of hormones, artificial flavour and so many more. What I just listed is very inflammatory to the body. And inflammation in the body is the core of acne! Try out this healthy chocolate bar and keep your clear skin!
Why is dairy the #1 enemy when it comes to acne? Dairy even when labeled hormone-free still contains hormones that are a big-time acne trigger. But I got you covered with this easy Baked Chicken Parmesan Recipe! #cysticance #healthyrecipes #guthealth #hormoneimbalance #hormonalacne #clearskin #adultacne #acneexpert

On top of poor gut health, liver toxicity, and hormonal imbalances, nutrient deficiencies are often underlying factora that causes acne. While it depends on the type of acne, some of the deficiencies I regularly see are in: Essential fatty acids, Vitamins A, C, D, E, and K, Zinc, and Selenium. One of the most common is protein. This is why I created this Pineapple Chicken Skillet with all the tropical vibes. #clearskin #acnetips #healthyrecipes #adultacne #cysticacne #acneexpert #pimples #skin

Being a nutritionist and mom of two boys, I sneak extra vegetables in anytime I can. Casseroles like Shepherd’s Pie, are a great way to do it. All very important areas when you are trying to get rid of acne, breakouts, pimples to get clear skin!
Lasagna. Who doesn’t love a hardy piece of lasagna. My Nonna made the best lasagna and made it look so easy. My large family would devour the whole thing leaving no leftovers. Diet and sugar are probably one of the first things I talk about with my clients. Diet plays a huge role when it comes to our skin so when you are working towards clear skin you will 100% have to adjust what you’re eating (especially if the majority of your diet is processed/refined carbs and dairy). Throwing a handful of spinach in your smoothie is an easy way to get some greens in without having to suffer the taste. Spinach also reduces inflammation in the body, boosts your energy, great for your immune system and is an excellent source of vitamin K which is a key nutrient for strong bones! #healthyrecipe
While the “perfect” diet does not exist, I think you know by now that refined foods high in sugar and dairy are not the best foods for acne. However the “ideal” skin diet does include adequate hydration, a variety of colourful fruits and vegetables, high-quality proteins, and omega-rich foods. By nourishing your body with those foods, you’ll be consuming lots of skin-boosting antioxidants, amino acids, and good essential fats. #acne #breakouts #pimples #acnetips #clearskin #cysticacne #adultacne
