Lincoln MacCauley Alexander was Ontario's first black lieutenant-governor, and the 24th in provincial history. He served from September 20, 1985 to December 10, 1991. Prior to that, in 1968 he was elected to Parliament for Hamilton West, becoming Canada's first black MP. He also served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War.
