These active young people require constant stimulation and physical activity, both of which are part of the Youth Singers’ format. The JUNIOR HI Division enjoys touring opportunities and members of this group will be embarking on another tour adventure in California to participate in a music festival and Disneyland in the spring of 2014.
Calgary, Alberta: SECOND CHANTS, the Adult Recreational Division, in sixteen seasons this choir has grown from a handful of trail-blazing singers to almost 60 men and women. SECOND CHANTS is a non-auditioned choir with a healthy balance of fun, friendship and music making. A highlight of their season is their much-anticipated year-end shows, which is an entertaining showcase for family, friends and adoring fans. Come to any rehearsal and try it out!
Calgary, Alberta: STAR (Special Talents in Arts and Recreation) is a new and interactive experience that allows children between the ages of 8 and 15 with cognitive delays to participate in a tailored program that uses music, movement and instruments to further benefit their current abilities and strengths in the performing arts. STAR aims to develop a love for music and dance in a safe, stimulating and fun environment.

Calgary, Alberta: The KIDAZZLE division was developed to make an easy bridge between the KIDS & MUSIC foundation and the performing divisions of the Youth Singers’ program. Children entering Grade 3 in September are invited to join this non-auditioned group. KIDAZZLE will further your child’s musical experience through regular joint rehearsals with the KIDZXPRESS division as well as the involvement of both a full time accompanist and choreographer.
Calgary, Alberta: KIDZXPRESS is a performing choir for young singers in Grades 4 to 6 and an introduction to “show choir” in a fun & educational environment. KIDZXPRESS provides an exciting alternative for the young performer who wants to do more than stand-up straight and sing.
Calgary, Alberta: Senior High school is a time for making lifelong friends, travelling, experiencing new things and enjoying life. Camaraderie, confidence building and team effort are fundamental to the program, and are responsible for changing the lives of many teenagers. Excellent leadership, coaching and peer support make the learning experience a quality one. Students in the SENIOR HI Division have an opportunity to receive High School credits through our Youth Singers Credit Program.
Calgary, Alberta: A keen love for quality music and a desire to hone stage and performance skills are characteristic of the members of ACT3. With excellent leadership and a positive team approach, ACT3 has excelled as a collective of fine musicians. As active performers, ACT3 is in great demand at many events of local, national and international stature. The program includes opportunities for solo work, ensemble work, recording, musical theatre, dance and much more.
Calgary, Alberta: SHINE is a small auditioned ensemble of singers from the ACT3 division that are committed to a heavier performance load. Their season runs from September – August and they perform at a variety of events year round in Calgary and surrounding areas in Alberta. Separate registration is required for singers accepted to SHINE.
Calgary, Alberta: ONCUE is a vocal ensemble launched in 1995 that blends harmonies with a touch of musical theatre to create a unique brand of entertainment. ONCUE has performed at many events in Calgary and surrounding areas including PODIUM in Winnipeg (2004), Victoria (2006) and Sackville NB (2008), “Northern Harmony” in Edmonton and the “Harmony Sweepstakes” a cappella competition in California.
Calgary, Alberta: ENCORE is a group of experienced singers, ages 25-45 (give or take a few years). They accept experienced singers through an audition process. This group enjoys a wide variety of repertoire including familiar YSC standards as well as new favourites including arrangements by their music director, David Holoboff. Highlights are singing with friends, socializing with a musical peer group, seasonal performances, get-aways and experiencing a challenging repertoire.
Calgary, Alberta: The CAST Program is a part of the Youth Singers of Calgary’s SUMMER STAGES. Our goal is to give young performers (ages 15-24*) a unique training experience and the tools necessary to take their love of the arts to the next level as they continue to pursue post-secondary, community or professional performance opportunities.
