Wine producer: Quinta de Foz de Arouce. Quinta de Foz de Arouce is a unique and authentic Portuguese winery, located in the mountainous Lousã area. Their energetic wines are produced in a rustic, simple winery using basic, well-made technology. The winery is able to use such basic technology and still create remarkable and pure wines due to the old Baga grape vines which produce fantastic wines that are unique and elegant – ideal for drinking on a special occasion!
“MARQUES DE BORBA” is a blend of Aragones, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in second pass oak. This seems very sweet at first and then resolves into a very nice whole, elegant, but still feeling full in its youth, with intensity on the finish and enough structure to hold awhile
2009 Château de Montfaucon "Baron Louis" Côtes du Rhône This latest release is produced from 50-to-90-year-old vines on select vineyard parcels on the right bank of the Rhône. This substantial yet elegant red can be enjoyed now, but it will be superb with several years more of cellar time. Try it with heartier fare like sirloin steaks dusted with fresh herbs. (90pts - RP)
