Dinny the Dinosaur is a beloved Calgary landmark. He was built in 1937. Since then, the Zoo has been transformed around him but Dinny remains unchanged (except for some restoration work). In 1987 Dinny was declared an Alberta Historical Resource. He now stands in the Dorothy Harvey Gardens and is the official Mascot of the Zoo.
